Vitalant is Arizona’s largest non-profit community provider responsible for fulfilling blood needs for 100% of the hospitals in Maricopa County and 90% statewide.  Every day, more than 600 donors are needed to meet the needs of patients in 62 Arizona hospitals.  It is estimated that one in every five hospital patients require blood, ranging from surgery and trauma cases to patients with internal bleeding, burns, cancer, leukemia, and mothers of newborn babies.
