At State Forty Eight, we’re kicking off the decade with some community action and we need your help!
If you haven’t been following along, we launched a new initiative last year called SFE Community Impact, where we’ve made it our mission to do good by empowering others to do good.
Last year we teamed up with organizations like United Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House Charities and UMOM, and we relied on you for support --- you really showed up! Because of your time and donations, we made a real impact for those in need in the Valley.
Well, we’re calling on you once again.
For our first Impact Day of 2020, we’ve teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Central Arizona (Habitat). This year, Habitat is celebrating 35 years of building homes, communities and hope in Arizona. To highlight the work that Habitat is doing, we are launching a collaborative T-shirt to raise funds and inviting the public to support the cause through a volunteer event.
The upcoming event will contribute to Habitat’s latest neighborhood revitalization efforts in the Central City South Community, located just south of Downtown Phoenix – often referred to this community as the “the neighborhood that time forgot”. This long-established community is home to many multi-generational families still living in the homes their parents and grandparents lived in.
On Saturday, January 25th the State Forty Eight team, along with 20 of our supporters will contribute their time to help finish-up one of the first new Habitat homes in the area. To mark the occasion, Habitat will be launching their commemorative State Forty Eight T-shirts and the first 20 volunteers to sign up will get a T-shirt to take home.
Those interested in volunteering can register at www.statefortyeight.habitatcaz.volunteerhub.com.
Volunteer spots are limited but there is more than one way to get involved! The community is also invited to join State Forty Eight and Habitat for Humanity for an after-party at The Churchill in Downtown Phoenix from 1 p.m to 3 p.m.
Habitat will be on site facilitating the painting of dedication stones, which are symbols of love and appreciation for all who help build with Habitat. Collaborative T-shirts will also be available for $35 while supplies last. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona.
We hope you will help us spread the word and increase out impact ?.
